If we tried to describe Northwoods - Hearty Home Cookin' in one word, that word would be

 "Welcoming".

At Northwoods we pride ourselves on how comfortable and cared for we make our guests feel. It's a reflection of how we used to feel at Grandma & Grandpa's "Up North" in Three Lakes, Wisconsin.

To us, Grandma was the most caring person on earth.  She would always know what you needed long before you even thought you wanted it.  We'd like to think a little of that rubbed off on us.

"The Original" Northwoods of Crete, Illinois opened in 1998.  Since then we've remodeled and redecorated in 2003 so it more than ever mirrors our family memories of a vacation "Up-North". If you haven't been to our little lodge before,  come and see where our reputation started. And if it's been a while since you visited us - You'll truly be surprised and pleased at what we've done.

The front entrance to THE ORIGINAL Northwoods in Crete, Illinois is a hint of the rustic ambiance that customers can expect inside.

As guests enter and look toward the dining room their eyes are drawn to the Wisconsin Stone fireplace and the authentic mounts that grace it. Rich tones of knotty pine accentuate the fireplace and  artifacts found tastefully displayed throughout the restaurant. 

On the far side of the dining room are a pair of hand crafted swinging doors that lead to the "Saloon" side of our establishment

From every vantage point, you get the sense that you really could be on a vacation "Up North".  Our staff and food will complete that feeling for you.

Guests who sit in these booths are encircled by "The Northwoods Express" that travels on a track above them. 

Just south of the Potawatomi Jamboree an authentic Wisconsin row-boat   "floats " in mid air above the booths below.
